He was an all-rounder indeed, from his patriotism to his participation in India’s freedom struggle, to his devotion to giving back to society through heading numerous charitable organizations and educational societies, he was a visionary.
He believed that success is not measured by your own financial progress but by the impact you make on others by uplifting them. The late 1940s was the era of Mahatma Gandhi’s “khadi” – which gave him the idea of distributing ‘Sulphur Skylark Ultramarine Blue’ (a brightening agent for khadi).
From a humble beginning, by distributing ‘Blue’ to all the Dhobi Ghats in Mumbai on a bicycle to opening a small office in Vadgadi. As time progressed, RSG added more products to its portfolio. His ethical business policies and jubilant nature helped him maintain great relationships with customers and suppliers. His policy of treating one’s employees as family rewarded him with loyal employees which have made the company reach great heights and successes.
